All About Atlanta Braves 1st Baseman Evan Gattis

By Braves MLB Tickets Staff Writer: R. Murray

Atlanta Braves give Evan Gattis a start at 1st base:

We've seem 1st baseman Atlanta Braves Evan Gattis splitting time at catcher with Gerald Laird this season. But as of last Friday, April 12th, Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez put the  hot-hitting Gattis to first base.

All About Atlanta Braves 1st Baseman Evan Gattis:

Atlanta Braves 1st Baseman Evan Gattis was drafted by the Braves in 2010. We all remember when he failed to make the opening day roster of any Braves minor league team in 2011, and sadly remained in extended spring training. Then when the Braves invited Gattis to spring training in 2013, we were all super excited. The Atlanta Braves 1st Baseman Evan Gattis had a 19-for-53 (or .358) performance in the Grapefruit League and McCann starting the season on the disabled list. So then the Braves added Atlanta Braves 1st Baseman Evan Gattis to their Opening Day roster to share catching duties with Gerald Laird.

Atlanta Braves 1st Baseman Evan Gattis Major League Debut:

Then on April 3, 2013, Gattis made his major league debut. He recorded his first hit as a major leaguer, which was a home run off of Roy Halladay, in his second at bat. We are so glad to have Evan Gattis on the 1st base for the Atlanta Braves! He's going to be a great asset to the team!
